I do things a bit differently. So while most consultants may start this section telling you about their most impressive projects to date, I’m going to tell you about how I started out.
My first job out of university was selling scarves at the iconic Liberty London department store. It was meant to be a part-time job but to my surprise I found that I was quite good at selling and more than that, I loved the interaction with people and the thrill of winning over even the surliest customer (Mr Brian May). From here I caught the attention of the then-CEO who asked me what might entice me to stay with Liberty and my reply was an opportunity working as an intern in the marketing department. Fast forward 4 years and a lot of digital marketing training and I was managing all social channels and began the process of working freelance for individual brands in my spare time. Working full-time as a Social Media Manager at Liberty was in equal parts wonderful and wildly overwhelming so in 2015 I decided to take the plunge into full-time freelancing - working initially for brands I had met through Liberty and soon being recommended to other businesses through word-of-mouth.
Since then I’ve been honoured to work with a variety of incredible businesses, helping them to crystallise their brand message, focus their international marketing efforts and strategise for growth, sales and customer loyalty. This starts with the very important but often underrated process of simply listening - what are the main aims for the business, what are the obstacles, where is help most needed. A social media strategy should never be a copy-and-paste exercise - in my experience every business needs a uniquely tailored strategy that is realistic and achievable for the team (even if it is a team of one!). I am often challenged with the misconception that my consultancy is simply advising on what to post and when, but truly an effective social media strategy is dependant on getting under the skin of the brand, challenging other aspects of the business that may not even fall under the ‘social’ remit, and encouraging a look at the much bigger picture.
In the 8 years since I have starting consulting I have assisted with an overseas expansion, advised on countless website launches and events, and led multiple influencer and advocacy programmes. On a smaller but equally important scale I have helped businesses by building their first website, launching their social channels from scratch and even most simply by helping them to find the words to describe their business. Although my specialism has tended to be in luxury retail and food, I’m open to working in any industry as long as I love the product and can easily envision the value I can bring to that individual brand. My overarching mission? To help business owners remove the stress and exhaustion around social media and feel confident and excited about how their brand is being communicated into the world.

Is social media a source of frustration within your business? Do you feel stressed and overwhelmed whenever you start planning content, as you’re not sure if anything you’re doing is driving sales or brand engagement? You’re not alone.
I specialise in helping businesses to align their content strategy with their wider business objectives. I do this by working with all key stakeholders to develop a strategy that everyone feels invested in, feels confident to implement and unites everyone’s efforts seamlessly.
Together we develop a content strategy that focuses on your unique selling points and makes you stand out in a crowded market and on platforms that limit organic reach. Forget breaking the algorithm - I help you to cut through the noise, generate demand, convert it, and turn it customer loyalty.

Once you have a sound social strategy in place and content ready to publish - you may need some help to schedule it and manage your channels. I can support here with advice on scheduling platforms, copywriting, customer service and month-on-month analysis.
Please note that I tend not to offer this service for more than 3 months and this does not include content creation or 24hr community engagement. For this reason is important for clients to have a team member in place who can create content and manage the channels long-term.

If you need a website for your business but the thought of employing an agency who will drag it out and charge more than you can afford is putting you off, let’s have a chat. Over the past 10 years I’ve assisted with the launch/update of many websites and in the past year have started using Squarespace to create content websites from scratch for my clients (and of course built this very same site you are using now)
This is the service for you if you are on a budget, want a quick turnaround and already have a clear idea of colour/themes/content. Please note I am not a graphic designer and cannot create commerce sites (yet!)

Yes, there are still businesses out there with no social media channels. And if you’re one of them and have no idea where to start, I can help. There’s good news too - with a blank canvas this process can be efficient with the potential for channels to grow quickly. I’ll help you identify your keywords, channel objectives and a top-level posting plan, as well as assisting with the more technical aspects of how to create and maintain each channel.
